SERVICES
At Cornerstone we offer a range of services aimed at being there for children who need a home whether for a short time or long time. We know that regardless of the time we spend with a child, it has a significant impact on their lives. Spurred on by our faith, we specialise in taking in children whom the system has failed by taking too long to find homes for them.
Fostering
If you feel God calling you to become a foster parent and you want more information, our friendly team is available to support and guide you through every step of the way to becoming a Foster Parent. Many of our staff have personally fostered or adopted, so we can talk from personal experience and can help you navigate through those difficult questions giving you the confidence to make an educated decision on fostering.
Adoption
The Good News is that we have submitted our application to Ofsted to become a Voluntary Adoption Agency (VAA) and are awaiting approval and already providing Post-Adoption support.
Short Breaks
Everyone needs some help now and again; even foster carers. Although we specialise in offering permanent homes to children in the care of Local Authorities, we also value and recruit respite carers who are able to step in when long-term carers need a break. All our foster carers get paid, but the amount varies according to what’s involved. And in recognition of the demands of the work, regular social work visits are made, access to 24-hour help is available and monthly training and support days are arranged. If you're interested in helping foster carers by providing respite care, contact us.
Shared Care
Families sometimes need more than respite – often where a child has special needs – and for these we offer sustained planned packages of support where another family literally shares the care of the child on a regular basis. If you'd like to help another family care for a special child, contact us.
Parent-Child Placements
Parent-Child Placements allow you to help a young mother take those essential first steps into motherhood. You can be the support and encouragement she needs to make good decisions for her child, In some cases it’s the parent who is being ‘fostered’ and other cases it’s the child.
