Cornerstone Managing Director,
Norman Cahill, together with Director of Care,
Margaret Hanney, has masterminded the purchase, development and opening of two new residential resources. However, Norman is more than happy to take a back seat as places the two new facilities start to fill. After all, the success of Cornerstone has always been built on teamwork and partnership.
“Cornerstone has, and always will be about, partnerships and team work. Both are essential to our long-term success as a business, as is our ability to
specialise in the provision of high quality care for children, young adults and
people with Complex Needs and/or Disabilities. These three factors have helped establish Cornerstone as one of the leading independent providers of Care Services in the UK since our launch in the second half of the nineties.
Without them we would be unable to make our £2m investment and significantly enhance our residential capacity to provide the South of England and beyond with much-needed additional resources for People with Disabilities and Complex Needs.
The decision to invest has been made a lot easier and smoother because we are responding to the clear demands of our clients.
We are proud that Cornerstone has an excellent reputation for working with
children/young adults who have Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism, Complex
Needs and their Associated Behaviours that challenge.
As well as our two new units we have launched three successful residential
facilities. Even as we speak, we are looking at other cities and towns as part
of an on-going process to search for new homes.
Although our focus has traditionally been the South of England, we have always taken referrals from all over the UK. Becoming established as a national rather than regional player is one of our key objectives over the next couple of years.
Everyone involved in team Cornerstone is passionate about providing quality
care. It is not something you switch on and off like a tap. It is an integral
part of our personality as a company and I am proud of the efforts of each and
everyone of the team. It is their combined effort that has led to the greater
demand for our services.
One of the great joys of developing the company is the way each section fits
neatly together and complements one another. The team focus extends across all aspects of the Cornerstone operation, which is why we place such a great emphasis on training. Team Teach has been particularly successful as means of empowering staff to feel confident and composed when dealing with children and young adults.
This is particularly important considering we are constantly travelling up and
down the country providing a variety of Escort Services to client organisations.
These are exciting times at Cornerstone and it is great to be a part. We’re
looking forward to the future challenges ahead with great anticipation, knowing
that we are so much stronger as a united and dedicated team.
