About Giving to Cornerstone
The majority of Cornerstone’s income comes from the work we do for our Local Authority partners in providing fostering services for their most vulnerable children. It is important that this money be spent on caring for these children and we are contractually bound to do this. Typically, an additional 2-3% of our income comes through the donations we receive from the generous churches, organisations and individuals who support us.

Now, though, as we expand, we need to raise start-up funds to enable us to give as much to these branches as we do to our English fostering work, without taking away resources from our existing English fostering work. Namely, we are seeking £100,000 to initially set up the work of Foundations Matter in Scotland, and our Voluntary Adoption Agency (VAA) in England.
Foundations Matter We have recently been registered as a fostering agency in Scotland, and will be operating there under a different name, 'Foundations Matter'. We are seeking start-up money so that we can develop an infrastructure and employ staff in advance of approving new families so that we are not taking money away from our existing fostering work in England. To read more about Foundations Matter, please visit this link. Adoption in England Similarly to the Foundations Matter endeavour, Cornerstone has very recently been approved as a Voluntary Adoption Agency in England. We are also seeking start-up funds for this part of our work so that we can employ staff, develop our infrastructure and recruit adoptive families without draining the resources of our existing fostering work. |
