Cornerstone Service Support Ltd is celebrating the opening of a new residential home for adults with an acquired brain injury (ABI) with an open
day on the 29th of August ’06. The home, called Eilat, will be officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth at 10am and will remain open to visitors until 4.00pm.
Eilat is a six bed development in the heart of Bournemouth that offers adults
with an ABI the ability to move back into the community. Cornerstone worked
closely with residents and the Primary Care Trust to design and develop a house that would be ideal for residents who are ready to re-learn life skills to gain greater independence.
Alan Ketchley, the manager of Eilat is very excited by the new development “This is a great opportunity to use Cornerstone’s wealth of experience to work with adults according to their individual abilities to enhance their lives and improve their daily living skills.”
The house has been refurbished to a very high standard offering spacious, light and airy accommodation over three floors. All bedrooms have en-suite/shower facilities; there are two spacious living rooms, a sunroom, large kitchen cum diner, kitchenette on the top floor and extensive garden containing an “allotment” space. There is also a fully equipped chalet for specialised day
centre activities. The state of the art residence includes air-conditioning and
a sprinkler system.
