Our mission at Cornerstone UK has always been to answer God’s call to care for the vulnerable and to provide safe, nurturing homes for the children who are most in need. We walk alongside families with prayerful, practical care, and build strong foundations of love, integrity and community, empowering every child to heal, grow and flourish as God intends.
The latest data from the Department of Education shows that in March 2025, the number of children waiting for adoption increased for the third consecutive year to 2,910. The data also shows there was a shortfall of 750 adopter families as of March 2025 with a 55% rise in the number of children waiting over a year to be placed in a permanent home.
We believe the Church has a vital role to play in reducing these figures, to ensure that there is a loving and stable home available for every child who needs one.
For the past few decades, we have operated as a Fostering and Post-Adoption Support Agency, but this year we have had a wonderful answer to prayer in the form of Ofsted approval as a Voluntary Adoption Agency, and we are now busy building our new adoption service.

Are you interested in attending an Adoption Information Evening?
We are praising God for all of the people who joined our first Information Event on 18th September – please know that we are praying for you all as you consider your next steps on the adoption journey.
If you weren’t able to attend or have only recently heard about the work of Cornerstone, we are excited to announce that our second Information Event will take place on 13th November 2025 at 7.30pm. This is a free event where you will hear from our team and real adopters, learn more about Cornerstone and the adoption process and ask any questions you might have.
Your attendance is not a commitment to adopt but rather a non-obligation step to find out more. To register your interest in attending, please click here to send us your details via a quick online form.
If you would like a conversation with a member of our adoption team before then, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via phone on 01915656423 or email us at [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you!
Please note, due to the location of our offices and Social Workers, at present we are only able to accept enquiries for Fostering or Adoption from families who live in the North East or East Midlands. We hope and pray to expand our region in the future, so if you live outside of this area we would still love to hear from you! But we may not be able to work with you immediately.

God sets the lonely in families."

Post-adoption support
We journey with adopters for the long haul. We can offer a number of years of formal support, often in conjunction with a local authority, and a variety of interventions that will help you and your child build firm foundations for the future. We're always here and happy to help! Please complete our form if you are seeking advice or our services, and we will come back to you.
